Will you still love me tomorrow?

Looks like we may not be around tomorrow night to do any studying so you better gird up your loins friends, if the nut is right, we will be raptured. Come now Lord Jesus!
Here is the false prophet's web site: http://embeddedworks.com/21May2011/  should you be interested.
What about that - do you think it will happen? Well, let's see what the Bible says...Matthew 24:36 is pretty clear:
"But as to that day and the exact time no one knows--not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone." New International Bible (emphasis added)
I once heard Jimmy Swaggart say that the way we know a false prophet, a false religion, whatever is that they are 8 parts truth and 2 parts lie. They have the lie well hidden in the truth, and it is up to you to know the truth in order to recognize the lie.
Isn't that what is going on with most people and the world today? They don't know the truth because of apathy so they are snookered into the lie. That is why Glenn Beck always tells you - don't listen to him - do your own research. Many people are lazy that listen to him and think because he says that, then he has to be saying the truth. The same is with some people who go to church or follow certain leaders. They let the other guy do all the work for them and say, "Well I trust him - so it has to be right. God speaks to him (or so he says) and I have never heard from God."
Nay nay, we are all human. Everything is open to interpretation. Remember Peter slept and Jesus asked if he couldn't just watch for an hour. We are asleep.
So wake up and let's at least find out something about this book, the Bible.
I guess this will be our meet and greet.  I will go first. My name is Karrel,  I was raised a Methodist, baptized my kids Catholic, became Charismatic (baptized the kids again - just in case), and then slid into the Pentecostal Assemblies of God. Finally, when I felt the church failed me I left it. Before that happened though I was able to remove Michael Jackson from my daughter's kindergarten and the Halloween parade from an entire school. How obnoxious I must have been.
My calling is Intercessor. I have questions, I have doubts, I linger, I walk away, but I always come back. But isn't that what Paul tells us to do, to work out our own salvation.
Philippians 2:12 says "Wherefore, my dearly beloved, (as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but much more now in my absence,) with fear and trembling work out your salvation." Douay-Rheims Bible
I think that I might be gnostic at times, because I truly do not believe any of the denominations. Why did they include some books and ban others? If you study the history of Christianity you will find that through domination and fear they have distorted religion. I have a hard time believing the Bible as we know it is all there is or is interpreted correctly. Additionally, the voice of the Bible is always masculine, but we know that many cultures were dominated by the life giver, the woman. This wasn't the way of the Hebrew tribes, they diminished women. Although I don't think there is a Holy Grail, I entertain the thought that Jesus could have had a wife, he was human after all.
Did you know that many pre-Christian religions had a god born of a virgin birth. Christianity is full of symbols that have been repeated over and over before this religion took place. What does that mean? I have the series "The Power of Myth" with Joseph Campbell. It raises questions.
"For we walk by faith not by sight." 2nd Corinthians 5:7
But to be honest, it is all guess work, but there are some things I am certain of. I will share with you as time goes on.
1 Corinthians 13:12 says: "For now we are looking in a mirror that gives only a dim (blurred) reflection [of reality as in a riddle or enigma], but then [when perfection comes] we shall see in reality and face to face! Now I know in part (imperfectly), but then I shall know and understand fully and clearly, even in the same manner as I have been fully and clearly known and understood [by God]." Amplified Bible
Please post a comment and tell us where you stand in this mystery. Also, please post what it is you don't understand, what you would like to study, if you would like to have a weekly online chat or just participate through messages. We can do both.
They only rules I would like to suggest is: No disrespecting another person's opinion.
Most of us have doctrine from previous training, but doctrine isn't truth, doctrine is law, and law died with Jesus on the cross. So listen, just because an idea lands on your ears does not mean you have to take possession of it. Take what you disagree with and use it as your own study point.
In fact, I believe if we do what Jesus commanded us to do then this should run fine. Let's make this fun, let's learn something. And should you ever be in doubt - here is the checklist:
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
"Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it  is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it  is not irritable or resentful;  it  does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but  rejoices with the truth.  Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things,  endures all things.
Love never ends."

So to quote Bill O'Reilly, "What say you?"
